Bass River is one of the founding grape growing estates in South Gippsland. The House Block was planted over 20 years ago and continues to be nurtured by the Butera Family. The estate leans towards a maritime cool climate and produces wines that represent a sense of place and regionality. Bass River sets out to utilise fresh knowledge, iterating on existing techniques, and taking calculated risks which result in wines that strive to be better than what has come before. We believe crafting great wines is a journey without a final destination, because we’re always moving the goal posts further.
