2023 Provenance ‘Ballarat’ Chardonnay
Tasting Note
The 2023 Provenance ‘Ballarat’ Chardonnay opens with aromas of ripe stone fruits, roasted cashew, and a hint of freshly churned butter. Richer than previous vintages, the palate balances creamy, complex dairy nuances with a fine vein of bright acidity, delivering textbook structure and a long finish.

Review
"520m elevation; Whole-bunch pressed, settled overnight and racked to barriques the next day. A bright green gold. With its aromas of ripe stone fruits and just a hint of freshly churned butter, this is noticeably richer than the '22. This comes through on the palate, but so too does that fine vein of bright acidity that will, no doubt, ensure the wine's longevity. Of this year's three subregional wines, this will need the longest time to fully hit its straps."
