Tasting Note

Intense flint/crushed rock, red fruits and peppercorn spice on the nose. Primary with a complex brooding set of flavours (including iodine) underneath. On the palate the wine is muscular and driven, it is tightly wound. Spice and red fruit flavours add vibrancy. The tannins are grippy and textural. As a young wine it demands some food or a small stay in the cellar. A pretty serious and structural expression of Heathcote Shiraz.

"A young Heathcote shiraz sourced from two vineyards, one on the Mount Camel Range to the region's north and the Osicka estate vineyard at Graytown. Brings a high level of herbal interplay to shiraz with a strong peppermint/spearmint overlay on ripe black fruits. It will be highly attractive to some, but this is still early days. Overall, it's a vibrant youngster, juicy, sweet-fruited and firm in ripe tannins, finishing with a choc-mint flourish."
