Jane Eyre first went to Burgundy to work vintage in 1998, she studied winemaking at Charles Sturt University and returned to Burgundy every year as well as gaining experience at Cullen & Ata Rangi until 2003 when she permanently headed back to Burgundy. Working again with esteemed winemakers such as Ernie Loosen in the Mosel and Dominique Lafon at Domaine des Comtes Lafon, she then got a job as assistant winemaker to Chris Newman at Domaine Newman. Jane started producing her own wines in 2010 in Burgundy and returning to Australia each year to produce her Tasmanian, Mornington Peninsula & Yarra Valley Pinot Noir’s. To say that Pinot Noir was her passion would be an understatement. She is also the first Australian recipient of the ‘Negociant of the Year’ award by the Revue du Vin de France.
